Itinerary and highlights

Enjoy the walk and stories inside the Bellu Cemetery, the first modern graveyard in the city and a place filled with love stories, unique architecture and even mysteries waiting to be resolved.

Discover the starting point of the most important protests in our recent history. Learn about the victims that bravely fought during the Revolution of 1989, the ones who believed in an occidental future and fought the miners in the '90s, as well as the recent anticorruption battle. All of them started here.

Next travel back in time in the beginning of the 20th century to find out all about the scandalous times that Bucharest had before the Communist Regime took power. In 1927, around 12.000 prostitutes and escorts were working in Romania. Among them, there were ladies of night such as the beautiful gypsy dancer, Zaraza.

A very important and emotional spot that gives goosebumps to every Romanian. Learn about the Romanian gulag, the cruel dictator Nicolae Ceausescu and how difficult was the life in the '80s for the local people. Travel in time back to the 22nd December 1989 when shootings took place and many innocent people died facing Securitatea (the secret police). This place represents a symbolic end for the communist regime in Romania. Discover how it happened.
