Itinerary and highlights
Meet with your guide at your accommodation and then start your day trip with a drive towards Bulgaria. Your first stop will be at the St. Dimitrie Basarabov Monastery, the only monastery in Bulgaria carved into a cliff that is still inhabited today.
Pass the border into Bulgaria
After Basarabov Monastery continue with your day trip to Veliko Tarnovo. Visit the wonderful Tsaravets Fortress situated on the hills of the city. Enjoy the rich history behind the fortress that is situated at the foothills of the Balkan Mountains.
After the Tsarevets fortress head for city center of Veliko Tarnovo where you will have free time for lunch and shopping with the help of our guide.
Conclude your tour with return transport to your hotel in Bucharest.
