Itinerary and highlights

The fortress is made up of an exterior enclosure located in front of the eastern wall, bordered by a fortified wall and equipped with a square tower, and an inner enclosure surrounded by the walls and towers of the fortress.

Within the Rasnov Fortress, tourists can visit the feudal art museum, where arms, weapons, galleries, period furniture, specific harbors are exhibited, but also some more unusual objects for our time but common in the 17th and 18th centuries. such as: a torture mask and a yoke for the transport of prisoners. You can also try your skill in archery or one of the paper targets. Rasnov Fortress Location.

Rasnov Fortress

You can buy a lot of souvenirs, semi-precious stones, art objects, or books with reference to the history and traditions of the place. Tourists who want to offer something to Rasnov Fortress can plant a rose yarn in a small square in the inner courtyard. Instead, his name will be written on a pleasant, along with the planting flower. The location of Rasnov on the commercial road connecting Transylvania to the Romanian country provided an early economic development. The settlement was first of all a transit trade center since 1427, with a weekly fair granted by King Sigismund of Luxembourg and which has preserved the importance of the vicinity of Brasov, the largest shopping center in southern Transylvania in its relations with the southeast Europe.

Legend of the fountain in the courtyard of the Rasnov Fortress. The lack of water led to the limitation of the possibility of resistance for a long time, that is why, in 1625 it was decided to dig a well in the rock on which the fortress was built. The fountain in the fortress, 146 meters deep, was dug between 1623-1640, this last year rising into the citadel and a church.

The Castle of Bran, or, as he likes the sensual amateurs, Dracula's Castle, built here more than 600 years ago, keeps and conveys to the visitor something of the pride of the knights who have crossed the threshold in his time.

Bran Castle is located less than 30 km from Brasov, built on a rock, in a strategically key location. It houses the Bran Museum, a museum that stretches over the four floors of the castle. Here are exhibited collections of ceramics, furniture, weapons and armor, and in the courtyard of the castle there is a small museum of the village, with traditional houses from the region of Rucar-Bran.

The fortress was built in 1211 by Gothic Knights Teutoni and is listed on UNESCO's list of cultural heritage. To defend themselves against Turkish invasions, the inhabitants of the settlement, Saxon origin, built the walls of the Peasant Fortress in the fifteenth century. The fortress has the shape of a circle surrounding the Evangelical Church, walls 12 meters high and 3-4 meters thick. The fortress has been attacked 50 times by the Turks. It is said that the city once fell into the hands of the enemies, but only because they had come as friends, and after they had penetrated the fortress they turned into conquerors. Prejmer Fortress is the only tourist destination in Romania that has received three stars in the Michelin Green Guide for tourism. The Black Church in Brasov has received two stars, and the same distinction is made by the capital. "From what we know is the only tourist destination in the country that has won 3 stars in the Michelin Green Guide. It's a guide for familiar tourists, and about 10-15% of our visitors come after reading this guide. Last year we had over 60,000 tourists, "said Silvia Zeimes, manager of Prejmer Fortress. Attractions of the fortification The church houses one of the oldest altars in Transylvania, painted in the fifteenth century, but also many other unique attractions. "The Prejmer Fortress is the oldest fortified church in Barsa Country. One of the attractions is the staircase that is unique. There are basically 274 small rooms, one for each family in the village. The room number was the same as the house, so they are all numbered. Here people were sheltered in case of an invasion. Also, the Ward's Road beside the walls of the fortress is well preserved, and in the case of other fortifications it no longer exists. There is also the Order of Death, practically a plank with five rifles on one side and five on each other, which rotated and became a true machine gun. It was used when the city was attacked, "Silvia Zeimes said.
